Well, it is late on Wednesday, another fun day. The kids made a great gift for mom. I sure hope she likes it. I haven't bought anything yet. Wish me luck that I'll find something nice!

Mom tore her Achilles tendon over the weekend, making Dad instant "Mr. Mom." Wow, Connie's says I don't appreciate her, but after just a week of this, I have to say, I think I do :-) It is hard work taking care of her, making the lunches, doing the dinners, making sure everyone gets to bed, etc. Will be an interesting two months as we adjust to this. On the other hand, it is great to be #1 around here and also be able to make whatever dishes I want. (Here comes, my favorite, plain noodles, with just a little salt and extra virgin olive oil...yummm!)

Thank goodness for my parents too. The kids have been just great about. Grace take such good care as does Alex. The hardest part is the vening because they know that Connie is there, but she can't come and give them a hug.

On the other hand, this is the true embodiment of Connie's motto, "What's the point of being married if you're not treated like a princess."

September 11th Memorial. An interesting day for the kids to say the least. Alex told me that he was watching TV and it took 15 minutes for all the names of the people who died on September 11th to scroll through. He thought that was funny. I asked him how many people died, he said over 3,000. I asked him if that was a lot. He said, well, we are just five in our family, so it must be. It's hard I think when you're young to realize how many people it must be. I'm glad we talked about it.

For Calvin and Grace, I think they are really too young to realize what it means. I tihnk they feel that people are sad. Connie is really great about this, she talks about how people feel. I want to talk about things, but I think she is right to talk about what it feels like. I asked Calvin what it felt like, he said, simply, "it's sad."

Rich got to take Alex and Grace around while Calvin had his "extra" tooth extracted. Gave me great appreciation for how hard Connie's job is. Just getting folks on time to school was hard enough. It is amazing how short the school day can seem. Lots more happens in an office job. For instance, I spent an hour getting a spoon over to Alex because I forgot to pack it in his lunch. Kudos to caregivers and parents every where.

UCDS Transformation. Wow, watch what the school is doing with this webcam. What a great idea for kids and others to see what it happening everyday! Alex is really excited to see what will happen next :-)
